Cairngorms

This rural estate Lodge is situated amidst the spectacular scenery of the Cairngorms offering a wonderful holiday hideaway. This fabulous property sits just 7.5 miles south of Grantown-on-Spey, close to the River Spey – home to some of the world’s most famous malt whisky distilleries.

Head to nearby Tomintoul (13.5 miles), the highest village in the Highlands, for a tour of the distillery. For those in search of outdoor activities, you are spoilt for choice. The nearby Craggan Outdoors (6 miles) offers everything from canoeing and kayaking on the River Spey to climbing and mountain biking. Walkers of every levels are catered for – from gentle strolls along the river Spey to hiking up the Cairngorms. Or head out on a day trip to the beautiful city of Inverness (35 miles) to explore the many shops, restaurants and galleries of this historic city and take in the views over the Moray Firth.

Entering this characterful cottage up three steps to the porch, you are welcomed by a convenient boot room which then leads into the stunning open-plan kitchen/diner. Immaculately decorated in cool blues and whites, with high ceilings, exposed beams and glowing wooden floors, this is a superb place to eat and drink together. The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped and sparkling clean ready for you to enjoy creating some memorable meals. Enjoy sitting down together at the stylish country table and benches and get toasty warm in front of the beautifully decorated wood burner. Next door is the delightful sitting room, charmingly decorated in traditional Highland style, full of character with beautiful French antique furniture and another wood burner for cosying up in the evening after a day out exploring. Also downstairs is the beautiful twin room, with floral decor and an elegant bathroom next door, complete with an elegant roll-top bath for a luxurious soak at the end of the day. Upstairs are two more charmingly pretty bedrooms – a double and a twin, both with delightful coombed ceilings that create a welcoming and cosy space. In between the bedrooms is a smart shower room with WC and hand basin.

Outside, the cottage is surrounded by a large lawn backed by woodland and with views of the Cairngorms in the distance. There is a picnic table and two chairs where you can sit and soak up the peace and maybe spot the odd red squirrel or roe deer venturing into the garden.

For that special occasion Fae Bothy can also be hired at an additional cost. The bothy is located in the heart of the Estate and is beautifully renovated to include a fully fitted kitchen, charcoal grill, large dining table, sofas, roaring wood burner and WC. Private dining can also be arranged.
