Just 20 miles north of Glasgow, this stunning house enjoys a fantastic lochside location and is adjacent to the RSPB’s wetland reserve, with Buchanan Castle Golf Club, the Sea Life Aquarium and Balloch Castle and Country Park all within 6 miles. The estate is home to a range of wildlife including roe deer, and there are also opportunities for boat and fishing trips as well as spectacular walks. With Ben Lomond in the distance, this is a fantastic base for exploring the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (both within 15 miles).
Entering the property, a vestibule and main hallway lead you through to the ‘Great Room’ which is a fantastic space with a double height ceiling and picture windows offering views of the lochans and Ben Lomond. The Great Room opens into a formal games room with a pool table, and an impressive drawing room with a central fireplace and plenty of seating. The ground floor also features a stylish kitchen/diner with an attractive dining area perfect for enjoying a special meal. The kitchen, laundry and boot room are equipped with a hob and double oven with warming drawer, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, steam iron, microwave, two sub-zero fridges and a wine fridge as well as a range of extra facilities and gadgets. You can also enjoy a meal in the light and fresh conservatory, or relax in the cheerful TV room. There are also two WCs on the ground floor. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers six cosy bedrooms, many of them en-suite. The Family Suite comprises two bedrooms – a twin room adjoining to the king size bedroom an en-suite shower room. The master king-size sleigh room has its own dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, rain dance shower and his and hers sinks. There is also a master king-size sleigh room with en-suite shower room, and a twin room with an additional two pull-out trundle beds and en-suite shower room. A twin room has access to the family bathroom. There are three more bedrooms on the second floor: a king sleigh room, day bed and pull out single bed with en-suite bathroom, a king-size zip-and-link with en-suite bathroom and a king size room and en-suite bathroom.
The property also offers an indoor heated swimming pool with changing rooms, secure door entry, shower area, separate WC and towel store. Stepping outside you can explore the estate grounds which surround the property. A large paved sun terrace is furnished and ideal for enjoying drinks or a BBQ. There are extensive lawns which are ideal for games and also feature a children’s play area with adventure frame, slide, swings, Wendy house and trampoline. There is also a hard tennis court. The grounds leading away from the house have been purchased by the RSPB and have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the lochs and wetlands are home to an abundance of wildlife. Please note the canal is fenced in, but young children will need supervision at all times on the estate.
